Built by a homeschooling family

The app we use every day to keep our own children's records — offered to yours.

The short version

We are a homeschooling family. Our children learn at home, at the kitchen table, in the yard, at the library, on field trips — and every one of those days produces something worth keeping: what was taught, what was finished, the drawing that shows how far the handwriting has come.

Ownly Academy is the app we built to hold all of it. Not a product designed in a boardroom for a market — a tool built at that same kitchen table, because we needed it.

Why we built it

Before this app, our records lived everywhere: a paper planner, a spreadsheet, a camera roll with three thousand photos, receipts in a drawer, and a calendar that didn't talk to any of them. Every time a report was due, we rebuilt the year from scraps.

We wanted one calm place that answers a parent's actual questions. What did we do today? What still needs to be logged? Is each child getting balanced time? Are the records ready if someone asks for them? That is the whole product — a family learning command center, not a classroom and not a corporate dashboard.

And because the records are about children, we set the privacy bar where we would demand it as parents: no trackers, no child accounts, AI that stays off until an adult turns it on, and records that leave with you the day you want them to.

How we build it

Our own homeschool runs on Ownly Academy every day. When something is clumsy, we feel it first — before any customer does. When a feature ships, it is because our family needed it on a real school morning, not because a roadmap said it was time.

We would rather do less, honestly, than more, impressively. The app organizes records; it does not teach your children, grade them, or judge them. It does not promise legal compliance — it makes your records so complete that compliance questions become easy to answer. Where software should stay humble, ours does.

Every claim we publish is checked against the code before it goes on a page. When we got one wrong, we said so in the policy itself, dated, rather than quietly editing it away. That is the standard we intend to keep.

Who runs it

Ownly Academy is operated by Adodesign LLC, a small family business in the United States. There is no venture capital, no growth team, and no plan to sell your family's data to fund one — the subscriptions are the business model, whole and entire.

When you email [email protected], a person who homeschools reads it. Usually the same person who wrote the feature you're asking about.

An invitation

If you homeschool — whether you're three weeks in and overwhelmed, or ten years in with a filing cabinet of portfolios — we built this for the version of us that was exactly where you are.

Start free, with one child and no card. If it makes your week calmer, it has done its job.

Ownly Academy

A quieter, more useful workspace for homeschooling families. Built by a family that needed it.
